Psyon Games' success is proof that games in health have real impact

Psyon Games has spent over a decade showing the world that games aren't just entertainment they can change lives. Founded in 2014, the studio builds research-based, award-winning games designed to improve health behaviors, from awareness and diagnosis to therapy. Their flagship title, Antidote, was named Game of the Year in the Applied Games category by the Finnish Game Industry in 2018, and their work has taken them into partnerships with organizations like the World Health Organization, GSK, and Takeda all built on a mission to improve the health of a billion people.

Their own success is proof that the space between "game" and "health tool" isn't a gap. It's an opportunity.

The gamified wellbeing workshop

While we continue developing our digital wellbeing games, we ran a hands-on workshop with the Psyon Games team using two of our original board games:

Roll for Self-Compassion: a game that gives teams the space to practice something most workplaces never make room for: giving and receiving compassion, openly, with each other.

Name the Emotion: a game that helps team members recognize how their colleagues behave and feel under pressure. Imagine teams getting familiar with each others and their leaders emotions and baviour under certain situations so in a real crises time they would have built awareness already.

What Psyon games team said:

As a game company, we know how important games can be for wellbeing. Nordaurai’s gamified approach is unique and innovative it made us come together and talk, even though we spend all day together”

Why Gamified Wellbeing?

The goal of any wellbeing investment is organizational productivity: healthy people leaders and teams who can do their best work without burning out. why gamified wellbeing to reach there?

Because we've been talking directly with teams and leaders, and the answer keeps coming back the same way: they're not engaged with the wellbeing programs their companies already provide. Most of those programs talk at people, facts, guidelines, a meditation app link and ask them to absorb it passively.

Nordaurai the gamified wellbeing does something different. We put wellbeing in people's hands literally through play. Instead of being told about self-compassion or emotional awareness, teams experience them through original wellbeing games grounded in the science of positive psychology, where awareness, reflection, and real behavior change happen because people are engaging not sitting through a session
