Meet Nikki: The creative artist behind our first wellbeing board game
Nikki finds Nordaurai a meaningful job because she has a deep curiosity about psychology, and giving art to mental health games is exciting and meaningful for her
Hi, I am Nikki,
Nice to meet you! My name is Nikki and I am a 22 year old Game Artist intern from Sweden. I mainly work with 2D art, environment and background, and marketing art here at Nordaurai, but I also have skills in 3D pipelines.
There are lots of art forms and media that have shaped me, such as movies, visual art and storytelling. Games have been one of the most significant of these in my life since my childhood. I have always found joy in being creative and expressing myself, and I have an eye for details. These traits have helped me to navigate the world through a curious lens. When I play games I get immersed in the game worlds and I always find myself moved and inspired by the visuals as well as the stories being told. That’s ultimately what sparked my interest in creating games myself. The gameplay experiences have stayed with me and continue to inspire me, and have led me to analyse how the gaming industry creates these lasting impressions.
Why I chose a wellbeing game studio/company for my first job
I have a deep curiosity for psychology and have studied it during my high school years and in my free time. I’ve had my fair share of struggles and studying psychology has been a great tool for understanding both myself and the people around me better. So it's no surprise Nordaurai caught my attention when I discovered how they combine positive psychology with games. Who wouldn't be intrigued by that?
Working here has been a valuable experience and I am fortunate to be learning just how impactful serious games can be. It isn’t always easy to balance wellbeing games with entertainment, but it is a challenge that we solve when we work together. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with a talented team on projects that I find truly meaningful.
How we design wellbeing games and what skills I bring to Nordaurai
My goal is to take artistic approaches that are inclusive, comforting, and that help bring Nordaurai’s message to light. Together we aim to create games focused on self improvement through mental health. We want to give people in corporate companies insight into the importance of employee wellbeing, and help them act on it.
Would you like to see what kind of wellbeing games we are producing for you and for your organization, to make wellbeing engaging and drive effective, positive behavior change?
Thank you for reading,
