Meet Albin: The artist who turns our sketches into 3D
Albin is new to designing psychology games. At Nordaurai, that's part of the point. We build games, and we also build people, everyone here gets to learn something they haven't done before.
Hi, I am Albin,
I’m an intern at Nordaurai from the south of Sweden and I work on the 3D modeling for our games.
I have always held a deep passion for videogames, some of my earliest memories are of me and my older brother playing lego batman together, and the passion has never stopped. I simply love that I can get transported into the world of the games and experience them by myself as if I'm actually living in them.
Why I chose a wellbeing game studio/company for my first job
Mental health and psychology in general has never really been anything I've given much thought about. I was diagnosed with autism when I was very young but I didn't know about it until I was much older, probably around 12-15 years old, but even then it didn't affect my life much. Growing up psychology and mental health was never really something we talked about, I never had anything against it, the subject was simply never in need of talking about.
It will be interesting learning more about psychology through my internship.
How we design wellbeing games and what skills I bring to Nordaurai
My job at Nordaurai is to take our ideas from pen and paper and give them shape in the third dimension. I do this through 3D modeling
3D models for the digital games, the majority of my work is making hard surface props that we can use for levels and maps inside the games. I have made a couple of games with the goal of being pure entertainment, although I have never made games with the express purpose of being used in psychology or made for people who don't usually play video games. I really flip the way I approach game making upside down, but I believe this internship will help me approach this new way of thinking.
Together we’ve made steady progress in the reproduction of our games. I'm really excited to continue working with Norduarai and I have already learnt a lot about a professional startup. It will be interesting to see what games we will make together.
Would you like to see what kind of wellbeing games we are producing for you and for your organization, to make wellbeing engaging and drive effective, positive behavior change?
Thank you for reading,
Albin Schill
